This Holy Family at the Manger Luminary gently reminds us of the humble reason for Christmas.  Using vibrant shades of ochre, bronze, ruby, azure, and emerald to fittingly bring the manger scene to life, this artistic depiction of Jesus' birth will grace any home with its beautiful presence.  And its radiant glow from each star-shaped opening will spread love, warmth, and hope throughout the season and in your home.

Handcrafted in a family workshop in the community of San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, this ceramic luminary features graceful designs that are etched by hand using a sharpened bicycle spoke. Each luminary is created out of local clay, turned on a kick wheel, hand-painted, and wood-fired in a beehive-shaped kiln.

Light an aromatherapy tea light candle, a string of electric lights, or a battery-powered tea light to bring about a sense of calm.  When you invite one of these masterfully created ceramic luminaries into your home or when you share it as a gift, you are also offering a place to share the stories of the artisans in Nicaragua whose livelihoods and futures depend upon your thoughtfulness.

Measures 6" wide x 7" tall.

For use with real burning tea light candle, string of electric lights or battery operated tea light (not included).

  • From Women of the Cloud Forest:

"These unique luminaries are handcrafted by our talented artisan partner, Duilio Jimenez, in Nicaragua. They are made out of local clay, turned on a kick-wheel, sun-dried, hand-painted, and finally fired in a bee-hived shaped wood kiln. The process is amazing and the final product will surely become a family treasure."
