Uniquely designed in one-of-a-kind patterns, each of these handmade angels is cut and hammered from recycled steel drums in Haiti.  At 4.5" tall, the Small Recycled Angel is a perfect accent to your decor at any time of the year and that it can be artistically clustered with the Medium and Large Angels.  Some of the smaller angels also have tabs for attaching ribbon to use them as ornaments.

The amount of political and financial turmoil in Haiti, as well as the devastation from natural disasters, has seriously threatened the people and businesses and non-profit organizations this year, perhaps more so than in other years.  Your purchase of one or more of these angels supports the artisans and organizations who are determined to recover and rebuild their lives in the midst of the chaos and heartache.  One small step to change the world, to change a life, makes a significant impact in that life and in the lives of those around it.

The Story:

The Steel Drum Art of Haiti has been famous for decades throughout the world. Metal from recycled steel drums is cut, flattened, and put into a fire to be made malleable. Then the artisan traces the pattern onto the flat piece, and with chisel and hammer in hand, starts the tapping that cuts away all that is not the image. These particular pieces are made in the village of Croix des Bouquet, which has come to be known as the capital of metal art in Haiti!   [2nd Story Goods]
